Accredited Private Kindergarten

5 years – 6 years

The Kindergarten Program is for students who are five years old on or before October 15th of the current year. The program is a one or two year program prior to grade one designed to serve as an introduction to the academic environment. The Kindergarten Program provides activities that promote the development of feelings of self-worth as a learner and the development of skills in the following areas: social interaction, academic readiness, language expression, and fine and gross motor coordination. The program is built around numerous theme-based units involving many active, hand-on experiences, including:

  • daily activities on the computer.
  • weekly learning experiences in the science center and library center.
  • weekly activities with music, art and sign language.
  • many opportunities to develop early mathematics and reading skills.
  • multi-age learning opportunities
  • Handwriting Without Tears – Early Writing System
  • blocks of free choice time.
  • ample outdoor play time.

Toddle Inn School will serve children through the first grade. The full resources and services of our school are available to children in the Pre-K Program. Each classroom is staffed by a certified K-2 teacher.

The Center is open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Before and After School Care is included in the tuition price.

The program will include the features described below for a school calendar of at least 175 days.

  • The programs coincide with the local public school calendar.
  • The classes are small in comparison to public schools, hence your child will have more one-on-one attention.
  • We have lots of hands-on activities, such as computers in the classroom and sign language instruction.
  • Karate and soccer instruction

Entrance Requirements:

A child applying for admission to the Toddle Inn Elementary School must be five years old prior to October 15th of the year he or she will be attending kindergarten. Exceptions will be made, if space is available, for children who display readiness for kindergarten and who will be five years old by January 1st. Parents of these children must realize that the local public elementary school systems will honor the October 15th date only. All children learn and mature at their own pace, and regardless whether a child is enrolled in a private or public school there are no guarantees their child will pass to the next grade.

Regarding pre-admission testing, if a child isn’t known to Toddle Inn staff we may require screening, interviews, questionnaires and visits prior to application. Children will be accepted into the program based on our findings and the suitability of the program for the child.

If your child will be attending the Toddle Inn Elementary School, our formal curriculum begins at 9:00 am, it is your responsibility to see to it that your child is dropped off and picked up at the appointed times. Since we believe in the continuity of our kindergarten day, children who are repeatedly late may be asked to leave the program. If your child will be absent because of appointments or vacations, the school must be notified in advance. If your child is sick, please call the school between 7:00 and 8:30 a.m.

Extra-curricular Activities:

This program includes  karate instruction, sign language, cooking class and Old Fashioned Storyteller visits. Additional physical activities such as Soccer are also included in the Elementary School Program.
