Welcome to Toddle Inn Child Care in Auburn, Maine
About Our Facility
The Auburn Toddle Inn built in 2008 is located just off Hotel Road, in the heart of Auburn. This facility is equipped with state-of-the-art playgrounds complete with Astro-turf, outdoor in-ground heated pool for summer swim lessons and a gymnasium. The Auburn site is a Step 2 on the Quality for ME rating system. Contact the site manager/director for tuition rates, sibling discounts or to schedule a tour!
Our Outdoor Area
Our Auburn children enjoy nature walks near the building – collecting flowers, pinecones, and observing the seasons change. They also help tend seasonal gardens and participate in planting and harvesting tasty veggies for snacks. Near the back of the building is a grassy field where classrooms venture to work on curriculum, stretch their legs, and investigate the natural world around them.

Why did you choose a career in Early Childhood Education? For as long as I can remember I have always enjoyed working with children of all ages. I love their sense of innocence and joy for life. It is an honor to be able to be a part of their developmental journey, and be able to support their interests.
What are your must have children’s books in your classroom? Dr. Suess and Pete the Cat stories
What is your favorite age group to teach and why? My favorite age group to work with is infants and toddlers, but I truly love all ages.
What is the best learning moment you’ve witnessed in your classroom? The best learning moments by far is any time a child either uses the potty for the first time or shows empathy for a friend.
What is a valuable lesson you have learned in your teaching career? The most valuable lesson I have learned throughout my teaching career is to, “Go with the flow and let the children lead the way!” Being flexible is key when working with children.
Outside of teaching what is your personal passion and/or hidden talent? I enjoy camping, and spending time with my family and friends.
What have you enjoyed most during your time working at Toddle Inn? I would have to say the part of working at Toddle Inn I enjoy the most is the connections and relationships I have gained with the children, families, and my team!

Why did you choose a career in Early Childhood Education?
I had previously worked with Middle School children for 14 years and I wanted a change of pace, but knew i still wanted to work with children, I chose Early Childhood Education because so much of the learning happens through play, and who doesn’t want to go to work and PLAY?! 🙂
What are your must have children’s books in your classroom?
We love Sandra Boynton and the Llama Llama series, as well as any book with sound effects.
What is your favorite age group to teach and why?
I really enjoy the young toddlers. I enjoy them because they are little sponges for the new knowledge and I can watch them hit so many developmental milestones during their time in my classroom.
What is the best learning moment you’ve witnessed in your classroom?
I have watched children become socially aware of how their actions affect or impact the peers in their class. I enjoy whenever a child understands a new concept and the big proud smile they share.
What is a valuable lesson you have learned in your teaching career?
To slow down, step back and reassess. If you focus on one concept or problem, you may miss growth and learning in other areas.
Outside of teaching, what is your personal passion and/or hidden talent?
I love any opportunity to be creative. I paint, draw, cross stitch and any arts and crafts project that catches my interest. I also enjoy walking and hiking with my family and our dog Koda.
What have you enjoyed most during your time working at Toddle Inn?
Fostering trusting relationships with my students and their families. (And Friday morning dance parties)

I would highly recommend Toddle Inn Auburn to parents looking for a high quality childcare for their children. The staff are well trained and knowledgeable about the emotional and educational needs of the children at all age levels; and adhere to strict policies and guidelines at all times, keeping the children safe which puts me at ease leaving my two children in their daily care. In additional to safety and education, Toddle Inn also provides opportunities for children to try extra activities like dance, sign language and open swim sessions at no added cost. Healthy food options and good hygiene are also encouraged for the children which makes the center a well-rounded place for children to develop at their highest potential.Show Less

I just wanted to write you a quick note. Peter and I wanted to express our appreciation for the care that Auburn Toddle Inn provides to our family. When we began our search of researching child care facilities in our area; what seems like ever so many years ago. We were both so impressed with the facility and the providers at Toddle Inn. It was truly the only choice for day care for our children. As our children have gotten older and progressed to each of the classrooms, we are very pleased with the care that our children are provided. We have had the privilege of working with all of the class rooms and most of the teachers for your facility. We continue to be impressed by the organization of activities and events for each age group. I have been particularly impressed with the “extra” activities for the older kids. My daughter has loved the swimming lessons this summer and the soccer lessons this fall. We are looking forward to upcoming events planned during the winter months. I am so pleased that we have found your facility and have formed a close partnership in the care of our children. I look forward to many more years of care, as my children begin entering public school as a provider of before and after school care. Thank you to you and your staff for all that you do in the care of our children.Show Less

Being a first time mother and a library employee I had done a TON of research regarding at home care vs. center care. I was fortunate enough to stay at home with my son until he was 8 months old. At that point I had to return to work to help support our family. It was a difficult decision to make.I visited and interviewed 6 local daycare centers in addition to the Toddle Inn. The Toddle Inn, by far, excelled over all of the other sites. When you are working, the people who take care of your child are helping to raise him into the person that he will become. These people spend 8 or more hours a day with my little honey. It was very important to me that the people around him truly cared about him as an individual. The teachers at the Toddle Inn truly do care about each individual child, that child’s well-being and their development. The teachers work not only with the children but also with each parent. I have received so much useful advice and feedback, it is like having my own team of child development professionals to help me give my son the best life possible. Every question I have had has been answered with the utmost patience and understanding. Additional resources have always been pointed out.The Toddle Inn has a curriculum for children, even in the infant room. My son was painting before he was walking. He was doing crafts that I never would have thought of that increased and strengthened his motor skills. The Toddle Inn helped me to identify my son’s musical talent and provided opportunities for him to grow his natural abilities. The campus is absolutely amazing with several playgrounds geared towards specific age groups. It has two gyms, a library, swimming facilities and even offers extracurricular activities for all children to participate in. Every age group receives “cooking” lessons for no extra charge. Field trips are available for the older children to participate in as well.Family activities are important as they bring the special people in a child’s life together. The summer party, Thanksgiving Feast and Christmas activities bring all of the parents and children together.I would recommend the Toddle Inn to everyone with children. With reduced rates as of this September there is no reason that anyone should choose another provider. Each day my son looks forward to seeing his friends and going to “school” at the Toddle Inn. I am so grateful for each teacher that has worked with my son. Thank you for all that you do!Show Less
